Heather Mack is a personal trainer and nutrition coach based in Plymouth, working with business owners, executives and professionals across Devon, Cornwall and the wider South West - and supporting clients UK-wide and beyond through online coaching. Before qualifying as a coach, she spent years in business development for a leading South West law firm, so the reality of professional life is familiar territory: early networking breakfasts, working lunches, corporate hospitality, late events, long hours and constant competing priorities.

That experience shapes how she coaches. No generic meal plans, no punishing cardio, no cutting out everything you enjoy - just an evidence-based, genuinely personal strategy you can follow consistently around a demanding career. The clients who get the best results aren't the ones who are perfect; they're the ones who implement the right actions, consistently. That's the idea behind the name - a deliberate pause to invest in yourself, before the demands of everything else take their toll.

I barely have time as it is. How much will this actually take?

Programmes are built around a full diary, not a fantasy one. Most clients train just a few focused sessions a week, and nutrition is kept practical - no hours of cardio and no meal-prepping six times a day. The aim is the most result for the least disruption to your work.

I have client dinners, travel and networking constantly. Can that really work?

Yes - that's the whole point. Coaching is designed around real professional life: working lunches, corporate hospitality, business travel, late events and the occasional glass of wine are all factored in, not banned. You shouldn't have to choose between your career and your health.

Do I have to give up alcohol and everything I enjoy?

No. The approach is sustainable, not punishing. You'll learn how to make room for the things you enjoy while still moving steadily towards your goals. Extreme diets and detoxes don't last - strategic habits do.

Where are in-person sessions held?

In and around Plymouth, with travel possible to nearby towns including Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge, Tavistock and Kingsbridge in Devon, and Saltash, Torpoint, Liskeard, Launceston and Bodmin across the Tamar in Cornwall. Clients further afield in South Devon (Newton Abbot, Totnes, Teignmouth, Torquay, Paignton) and East Devon (Exeter, Exmouth, Sidmouth, Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Cullompton, Crediton) are equally welcome - and those who travel a lot usually work with Heather online instead. Exact location and arrangements are confirmed when you get in touch.

How does online coaching actually work?

You'll get a structured programme delivered through a coaching app, with video demos for every exercise, weekly check-ins and direct messaging access to Heather. Workouts flex for hotel gyms, home or a full gym, minimal kit or full kit - built to survive travel and unpredictable weeks.
